The use of Isolation Technology (Iso Tech) is the key to the smooth comfortable ride you will experience in this chair. Vibration damping polymers isolate the seat frame from the base frame in this revolutionary technology that has a patent pending. These polymers greatly reduce the vibrations that can cause fatigue and pain. Additionally, the caster wheels are not attached to the same frame that you sit on. This prevents vibrations from being transferred to the footplate and up through your body.
You will be able to travel comfortably and smoothy over cobblestones, uneven paving, cross tracks, and tackle bumpy uneven backroads.
The base frame is extremely rigid to maximise performance while the front casters have a unique design that provides the perfect amount of flex to pass smoothly over cracks and bumps. Also, the Ki Mobility Ethos is the only rigid frame wheelchair that allows you to independently adjust the wheelbase to maximise performance and stability. It is also easy to optimize other features to set the chair up to give you maximum performance. You can quickly and easily change the centre of gravity, the front and rear seat heights, and the seat depth. You can choose a camber of 0°, 2°, 4°, 6°, 8°. The seat comes in widths from 12-20 inches, and in depths from 13.5-20.5 inches. The front seat height can be adjusted from 13.5-20.5 inches and the rear seat height from 13.5-20 inches.
You can personalise your chair with a combination of twenty-one frame colours, eight anodised options, and eight highlights, so you can create a chair that suits your style and personality. The colours come in a matt or gloss finish and there is a range of fun hydrographics available.
The Ethos weighs in at just 11.6lbs so it is lightweight and manoeuvrable yet it has a weight capacity of 275lbs. There are five different frame options to suit your needs. You can choose from nine different backrests and six types of upholstery. There are four armrests to choose from and seven different footplates. Seven distinct types of wheels are available with a choice of eleven tyres, and ten styles of handrims. The wheel locks come in seven options as do the caster wheels. There are four fork options, two types of anti-tipper, and three different pelvic-positioning belts. Additionally, there is a wide choice of accessories available for the Ki Mobility Ethos
